Judd Weisberg has his home and studio in Lexington, Greene County, New York in the Catskills surrounded by rivers, lakes, and streams, which inform his life and work as an artist, designer, teacher, and environmentalist. As an artist he works in all woods with a particular fondness for weathered and found woods and other materials collected along the wild waterways of our continent. From the rich mix of found materials and carefully dried, premier grade milled woods, and other materials, he creates furniture environments for the home, business, and for sets and properties for performing arts applications. Finishes are non-toxic and are expressive of the burnished or matte looks found in nature. His designs appear in Making Rustic Furniture and The Rustic Furniture Companion, both by Daniel Mack, Rustic Traditions and Rustic Artistry for the Home both by Ralph Kylloe. He has also been the subject of a feature article that appeared in the Japanese publication, Woody magazine. He was a founding director of Art Awareness Inc., an internationally-known multi arts center in Lexington, New York. Judd's work has been shown at the Art Awareness Gallery, The Adirondack Museum, The Erpf Catskill Cultural Center Gallery, The Greene County Council On The Arts Gallery, and presently shows at Catskill Corners in Mt. Tremper, New York, and the Ralph Kylloe Gallery In Lake Luzerne, NY.
Judd Weisberg taught design at The Philadelphia College Of Art as an Assistant Professor of Fibers. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Painting and Design from Carnegie Mellon University and a Masters in Art Education from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York. His work is in private collections and homes nationwide.
